On Thursday 18th September the Clubhouse Cabaret was one of the most popular evening’s entertainment nights for quite a long time. Claire Martin, or as she prefers to be known ‘Country Legends’, turned out to be just what the doctor ordered, to see some joy and merriment taking place in the Ivy Room.
For quite a long time we have shied away from Country and Western with usually only one or two people asking for it, and most saying that they are not fond for it, but on this occasion it was decided to bite the bullet and try it out, and what a great night was had by all.
Praise must go to Kelly from reception, who always gets the job of organising just about everything. Yes, she is a member of staff, but I’m not sure that her job description includes seeking out, tracking down, booking and organising endless trips, acts, functions and food. That sounds more like a full-time professional agent to me?
Well, agent or not, we are glad that we’ve got her, and let’s hope that 2026 will bring some happy times for everybody to get together and enjoy. Who knows, there may even be some more of that singing and dancing and maybe a little drop of medicinal as well.
